APA (NSW) Member Update – APA (NSW) & St George

APA (NSW) Member Update Monday 11 July 2016
Dear Member,

We are always looking for ways to add value to your membership and with this in mind APA (NSW) wanted to nail down a banking solution for members after being told that’s what members wanted. After a long process of negotiation APA (NSW) have been able to work with St George Bank to provide APA (NSW) members with a great opportunity. We am assured that no matter what your financial position, the St George personal banking specialist will help you achieve a better outcome than you are living with now.

We know that paramedics don’t have time to strategically build and monitor their finances. We know that “the job” doesn’t leave a lot of time for pouring over balance sheets; we tend to just pay bills and keep going. Take advantage of this alliance because it allows you to have a banking specialist in your corner to structure your finances for you after you tell them what YOU want.

If you are in a position where you were going to revisit your mortgage, personal loans or any financial matter, using St George will save you money and time. It will give you access to a “person” who has the power to make decisions and do stuff straight away! They have a team ready to go to help APA (NSW) members

The other great thing is that for every loan settled paramedics will benefit by St George paying a referral fee to the APA (NSW). This will go straight back into helping members like you.

This is no easy claim and for that reason APA (NSW) will closely monitor the relationship. So, have a look at the offer attached and test them!

Regards,

APA (NSW) Executive

Still No Uniform Solutions from NSW Ambulance

NSW Ambulance (NSWA) continues to bury their head in the sand when it comes to our uniform.

The current polyester uniform, including the short-sleeved shirt, has been causing work health and safety concerns for several members in hot and/or humid climates. This is unacceptable.

Paramedics take action against public sector wage cut

Today the Australian Paramedics Association (NSW) are commencing industrial action to stand against the announced wage cut by the Premier. For months, Paramedics and other essential workers put our lives and the lives of our families at risk to look after the people of New South Wales during the COVIID-19 Pandemic.

APA (NSW) appalled by NSW Premier plan to freeze our wages

The NSW Premier’s announcement to freeze the pay of public sector workers for 12 months is disgraceful. Paramedics and our frontline colleagues have been used, yet again, as scapegoats for this Government. We are praised as heroes for our hard work, and in the same breath served a pay cut that will ultimately send our wages backwards.
