Dear Member,
We refer to our previous member update with respect to action taken by Control Centre Staff as a result of NSWA’s failure to provide adequate uniforms in accordance with the Award.
NSWA has now given the following commitment for processing of uniforms for Control Centre Staff:
Given initial processing dates have now been provided & NSWA has conceded to the significance of the issue, APA (NSW) delegates have determined in good faith to hold off on action proposed for time being.
NSWA has also indicated wiliness of their management to work with individuals to put in measures to deal with inadequate uniforms and sharing of uniform items. Please get in touch with management if you are one of the individuals affected. APA (NSW) will always support members who carry out necessary measures to deal with work health and safety issues surrounding inadequate uniforms, including wearing non-NSWA issued clothing to work.
We ask any members from Northern & Sydney Control Centres who are in dire need of new uniforms to contact the APA (NSW) office. We will be asking NSWA to push your order through sooner than 1 July 2017.
Regards,
APA (NSW) Executive

NSW Ambulance (NSWA) continues to bury their head in the sand when it comes to our uniform.
The current polyester uniform, including the short-sleeved shirt, has been causing work health and safety concerns for
several members in hot and/or humid climates. This is unacceptable.
Today the Australian Paramedics Association (NSW) are commencing industrial action to stand against the announced wage cut by the Premier. For months, Paramedics and other essential workers put our lives and the lives of our families at risk to look after the people of New South Wales during the COVIID-19 Pandemic.
The NSW Premier’s announcement to freeze the pay of public sector workers for 12 months is disgraceful. Paramedics and our frontline colleagues have been used, yet again, as scapegoats for this Government. We are praised as heroes for our hard work, and in the same breath served a pay cut that will ultimately send our wages backwards.
