APA (NSW) Member Update
Decorating NSW Ambulances – IRC Update
Monday 19 September 2016
Dear members,
APA (NSW) today attended the IRC with respect to decorating NSW Ambulances. The NSWA sought a recommendation/direction from the IRC that the decoration of NSW Ambulances be ceased. The IRC determined that it was not in a position to be able to make a decision at the end of the hearing today. APA (NSW) will inform its members as soon as an outcome results.
APA (NSW) strongly supports the rights of a Union to engage in action they deem fit to improve working conditions for its members. APA (NSW) also strongly supports our members’ freedom of speech. Despite APA (NSW) not instructing our members to decorate NSW Ambulances, APA (NSW) will support its members if they choose to do so.
As always, should members require any advice or assistance they should contact their liaison officer or the APA (NSW) office.
Regards,
APA (NSW) Executive

NSW Ambulance (NSWA) continues to bury their head in the sand when it comes to our uniform.
The current polyester uniform, including the short-sleeved shirt, has been causing work health and safety concerns for
several members in hot and/or humid climates. This is unacceptable.
Today the Australian Paramedics Association (NSW) are commencing industrial action to stand against the announced wage cut by the Premier. For months, Paramedics and other essential workers put our lives and the lives of our families at risk to look after the people of New South Wales during the COVIID-19 Pandemic.
The NSW Premier’s announcement to freeze the pay of public sector workers for 12 months is disgraceful. Paramedics and our frontline colleagues have been used, yet again, as scapegoats for this Government. We are praised as heroes for our hard work, and in the same breath served a pay cut that will ultimately send our wages backwards.
