Industrial Action Update 17 May

Dear Member,
Our current industrial action is finishing at midnight tonight as scheduled.

Great work to every member who stood up and demanded better for themselves, their colleagues and their community.

The pressure is working. The Premier and Health Minister are being hounded on the issues of the wage cap, bed block, regional healthcare, and response times, and the Premier has given a strong indication the 2022/23 budget address the wage cap issue.

The NSW Government showed their hand when they took us to the IRC today – they are scared. Despite this disgraceful attempt to silence Paramedics, we argued successfully that the IRC should not intervene given that the action was due to end today.

What’s next?

We will not be silenced by weak promises of what’s to come, we need a genuine commitment.

We will be sending around a survey in the coming days on the next steps in our industrial fight for better pay and conditions. We will win this fight together.

In solidarity,

APA (NSW) Executive
